Lincoln's Animation and Visual Effects program provides an entry point into the dynamic realm of animated storytelling and digital effects, utilizing motion graphics, digital visualization, and modern narrative techniques. This program shapes students into versatile animation professionals capable of working across multiple creative platforms. The curriculum encompasses essential techniques like animation basics, narrative development, character performance, visual design, illustration, 3D sculpting, both traditional and digital animation methods, image compositing, animation studies, and short film creation. The Lincoln School of Film and Media has earned recognition at the Royal Television Society awards, with the student production Papier receiving the 2019 Best Animation honor, created by Tabitha Lay, Emily Leaning, Katie Thomas, Natasha Ray, and Charlie Bartlett. Additional student works, Harlem Nocturne and Uplifted, also received Best Animation nominations. This program prepares graduates for professional roles in animation studios, game development, visual effects production, broadcasting, advertising, and digital visualization. Alumni have joined prestigious industry leaders like TT Games, Tandem Films, Lupus Films, Double Negative, Cinesite, and Framestore CFC, contributing to notable projects including The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Ethel and Ernest, The Snowman and the Snowdog, The Jungle Book, Man of Steel, Inception, Wonder Woman, and We're Going on a Bear Hunt.
