Through our close collaboration with the NHS, evidenced by receiving a National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre designation with a Cardiovascular Disease focus, we demonstrate our commitment to healthcare advancement. Our exceptional student training programs have earned us the prestigious Athena SWAN Silver Award. PhD candidates conduct independent research projects with expert supervision, typically finishing within 3.0-3.5 years (full-time) or 6.0-6.5 years (part-time). An additional year (full-time) or seventh year (part-time) can be utilized for thesis preparation. The dissertation, limited to 50,000 words, must present original findings worthy of publication. Final degree conferral requires successful defense of the thesis in an oral examination.
