Our cardiovascular research program is globally recognized for its outstanding quality, covering the entire range from laboratory studies to clinical applications. Our findings have significantly influenced patient care both domestically and worldwide. Through our partnership with the NHS, evidenced by securing a National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre with a Cardiovascular Disease focus, we demonstrate our commitment to healthcare advancement. We excel in educating students, as recognized by our Athena SWAN Silver Award. Doctoral candidates conduct original research projects with faculty supervision, typically finishing within 3.0-3.5 years (full-time) or 6.0-6.5 years (part-time). An additional year (full-time) or two years (part-time) may be used for thesis preparation. The dissertation, limited to 50,000 words, must present novel findings worthy of publication. Final degree conferral requires successful defense of the thesis in an oral examination.
