The Leicester Cancer Research Centre boasts state-of-the-art research facilities and maintains strong collaborations with the NHS. Doctoral candidates undertake an original research project with support from their academic supervisors. Typically, full-time students complete their research within 3.0-3.5 years, while part-time students have 6.0-6.5 years. An additional year (or remaining portion) is available for thesis preparation. The final dissertation, capped at 50,000 words, must demonstrate novel findings and research worthy of publication. Candidates must successfully defend their work in an oral examination (viva voce) to earn their degree.

Qualification Requirements
You must hold a UK undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree with at least First-Class or Upper Second-Class honours or an equivalent qualification from a recognised overseas institution. All applications are considered on a case-by-case basis with professional experience also given consideration even if academic grades are not quite achieved.
