Following this, students may apply for a 12-month writing period, provided the total time doesn't exceed the maximum registration limit. Doctoral dissertations must present original findings of publishable quality, with a recommended length under 80,000 words. Final degree conferral requires successful defense of the thesis in an oral examination.
