Geographic Information (GI) is becoming more crucial across various aspects of modern life, including environmental conservation, commercial activities, telecommunications, predictive analysis, agricultural practices, and urban development strategies. Mastering GI systems (the technological platforms) and GI science (the academic field) is vital for proficient handling and examination of location-based information. Developed in collaboration with industry leaders, this program includes four mandatory courses along with four electives (chosen from an extensive selection) and a research project. Students will acquire vital competencies in: operating diverse GI applications, scientific coding techniques, managing the surge of digital information from online platforms, and interpreting geospatial data within the wider framework of information science. In addition to the core curriculum, participants can focus on specialized domains like public health mapping, satellite imagery interpretation, data representation techniques, and on-site geodata collection.
