This program blends theoretical knowledge, hands-on training, and research components. You'll choose three advanced chemistry theory modules from various options, enabling you to customize the curriculum to your academic preferences. These year-long modules, spanning both semesters, connect directly to the School's research expertise and are delivered by internationally renowned faculty. The first semester includes intensive laboratory training in cutting-edge techniques across synthetic, analytical, and physical chemistry disciplines. A dedicated research skills module will further enhance your capabilities, thoroughly preparing you for your dissertation work and future professional path. Our research strengths encompass atmospheric chemistry, chemical biology, materials science, spectroscopy, and sustainable synthesis. You'll conduct your research project within one of our distinguished research teams. During the initial semester, you'll receive guidance in selecting a research topic that matches both your interests and career goals. This includes meeting your project supervisor, reviewing relevant literature, and designing your experimental approach. From the second semester through mid-August, you'll collaborate with PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in our laboratories to execute your experiments and develop your final research report.
