This LLM program focuses on human rights law at domestic and global scales, offering students the chance to explore diverse aspects of human rights theory and application. Through our partnership with Politics and International Relations, we provide supplementary modules examining human rights from political perspectives. The International Human Rights LLM track addresses multiple dimensions of human rights in both theoretical frameworks and practical implementations. Students select 6 optional modules from 8 available choices, plus a dissertation within the human rights specialization to complete their degree. The curriculum fosters a rigorous comprehension of international human rights legislation and its underlying policy frameworks. Participants will enhance their skills in evaluating, interpreting, and implementing various legal and contextual materials to address complex legal challenges. Alongside deepening expertise in human rights law, the program cultivates independent legal research capabilities and refines both verbal and written communication skills - valuable assets for legal careers. Students enjoy the flexibility to select two elective modules from our comprehensive law offerings. Graduates from this program have pursued careers in private legal practice and international organizations including the United Nations.
