This course will examine several key questions through its curriculum. Two foundational health law modules provide an introduction to legal regulations in healthcare, complemented by required courses on health disparities and healthcare rights to align with this program's emphasis on equality and human rights. Students can then select elective modules based on their interests, including options like bioethics, mental health legislation, employment law, or medical malpractice cases.
The intersection of healthcare and legal systems appeals to professionals from both fields. Our program facilitates interdisciplinary learning, enabling lawyers, medical practitioners, nurses, and others to exchange perspectives. Instruction comes from prominent health law scholars, with additional learning opportunities through guest lectures and seminars hosted by the Centre for Rights and Equality in Health Law. Being housed within an active research center provides unique access to current studies, doctoral candidates, and a dynamic academic community focused on health-related legal issues.
