As a Physics with Space Science student, you'll gain a deep understanding of modern physics principles while mastering mathematical, computational, and experimental techniques to address real-world challenges, with specialized focus on space science. Our Physics curriculum follows the Institute of Physics (IOP) core framework, covering essential topics like classical mechanics, electromagnetic theory, wave phenomena, special relativity, thermodynamics, and quantum physics. The Space Science specialization allows you to explore these fundamentals while engaging in cutting-edge space research projects. Our program benefits from one of Europe's most extensive campus-based space research facilities, where you'll study space technology directly linked to our active research programs - including participation in the BepiColombo Mercury mission and development of advanced detectors for satellites such as the groundbreaking US-UK-Italian Swift observatory, which investigates the universe's most energetic cosmic events.
