Our Geology programs provide comprehensive education in the geosciences, covering Earth's structure, evolutionary history, and the sustainable management of natural resources. Each rock formation reveals intriguing narratives - whether volcanic origins, preserved dinosaur fossils, ancient ocean chemistry, or rare minerals with technological uses. Our curriculum guides you in synthesizing this knowledge to gain deep insights about our planet and the vital role of geoscientists in modern society. The initial year establishes core concepts across diverse geoscience disciplines, encompassing the rock cycle, fossil studies, resource management, and map interpretation. You'll participate in a field expedition to Scotland's scenic Isle of Arran to apply classroom learning in real-world settings. Subsequent years focus on skill enhancement and specialized knowledge development, with opportunities to tailor your studies through elective modules and domestic/international field excursions. The Geology pathway offers greater flexibility compared to specialized tracks, while allowing seamless transition to focused programs like paleontology or environmental geology after your first year if specific interests emerge.
