Our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Foundation Year programs are designed for aspiring students who want to pursue STEM disciplines like creative computing but lack conventional qualifications. These courses operate on the University of Leicester campus alongside regular degree programs, where you'll study with peers who narrowly missed direct entry into similar courses. The initial foundation year (year 0) prepares you to advance seamlessly into the first year of our BSc or MComp computing degrees. Successful completion guarantees progression to your selected program. Instruction comes from distinguished faculty across multiple departments, with a strong focus on cultivating vital professional and interpersonal skills for academic and career success. As a foundation year student, you'll fully integrate into university life—participating in the Students' Union, accessing campus facilities, residing in university housing, and utilizing support services, all while receiving guidance from a dedicated personal tutor.
