Our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Foundation Year programs are designed for students interested in STEM fields like computer science who may not meet standard admission criteria. These courses operate on the University of Leicester campus alongside regular degree programs, where you'll study with peers who narrowly missed entry to similar courses. The initial foundation year (year 0) prepares students to advance directly into year 1 of our BSc or MComp Informatics programs upon successful completion. This pathway guarantees entry to your selected degree after finishing the STEM Foundation Year. Instruction comes from our distinguished faculty across multiple departments, with a strong focus on developing crucial professional and personal competencies for academic success and future careers. As a foundation year student, you'll fully participate in university life - joining the Students' Union, accessing campus facilities, residing in university housing, and utilizing support services, all while receiving guidance from a dedicated personal tutor.
