Our STEM Foundation Year programs combine Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for students aspiring to pursue STEM disciplines like Chemistry but lacking conventional qualifications. These courses take place at the University of Leicester alongside peers who narrowly missed admission to similar programs. The initial foundation year (year 0) prepares students to advance directly into year 1 of our BSc or MChem Chemistry degrees. Successful completion guarantees entry into your selected undergraduate program. Instruction comes from distinguished faculty across multiple departments, with a strong focus on cultivating crucial professional and personal competencies for academic and career success. As a foundation year student, you'll fully participate in university life - joining the Students' Union, accessing campus facilities, residing in university housing, and utilizing support services while becoming part of our vibrant academic community.

A-levels: BCC including Chemistry. We may consider points equivalent from your best three A-levels.
GCSE: Grades B/5 in Maths (if no A-level Maths) and C/4 in English.
BTEC Diploma: DDM in a science related subject, which must include appropriate maths and science content. You may be required to take an additional maths assessment test.
International Baccalaureate: Pass diploma with 26 points minimum, and must include appropriate maths and science content.
Access to HE: Pass diploma with 24 Distinctions in a science related subject, which must include appropriate maths and science content. You may be required to take an additional maths assessment test.
