Pursuing a PhD typically requires a 3-year full-time or 5-year part-time commitment, during which you'll create original knowledge and analyze it in context with existing research. You'll conduct your research project under the guidance of a principal supervisor and additional co-supervisors, while enhancing your research capabilities and acquiring diverse skills. Global societal challenges often demand interdisciplinary solutions that transcend traditional sector boundaries. Conventional data sources frequently fall short in addressing these complex issues. The Digital Futures research theme, within the Big Data field, seeks to leverage innovative digital data to produce policy-relevant findings for transportation and interconnected sectors like energy, healthcare, safety, security, and social systems.
