This collaborative research initiative involves the Cardiovascular and Sport and Exercise Science research teams. Our primary objective focuses on mitigating cardiopulmonary disease progression and enhancing life quality for aging populations. Our comprehensive methodology ranges from analyzing electrical signals in individual heart cells to assessing lung performance in living organisms and evaluating exercise capacity impacts. We strive to pinpoint critical factors altered by both natural aging and cardiopulmonary conditions, while devising accessible interventions like tailored exercise regimens and dietary enhancements to counteract functional decline. Our investigations utilize both animal models and human subjects, supported by sophisticated computational modeling across multiple scales.
