Pursuing a PhD enables you to deeply investigate a subject you're passionate about while making a significant impact in your field. You'll undertake a substantial independent research project on a topic you select, culminating in a thesis of approximately 100,000 words based on your discoveries. You'll be supported throughout by either one primary supervisor or two collaborating supervisors who are experts in your research area. Our faculty specialize in various aspects of moral psychology, examining concepts like desire, reasoning, psychopathy, emotions, accountability, and affection. This research spans historical philosophical perspectives to contemporary ethical applications. Our work particularly explores decision-making processes in professional settings, personal connections, leadership roles, and legal systems.
