Our doctoral program enables you to specialize in a focused field while receiving comprehensive research training. You'll work closely with dedicated supervisors through regular meetings during your PhD journey. The Women, Gender and Sexuality studies employ transnational comparative approaches to examine historical gender formations, analyzing how both women and men have shaped these concepts. Our research explores family structures, kinship relations, and demographic patterns through intersecting lenses of gender, sexuality, race, class, and cultural perspectives. The program maintains special focus on British and American contexts, the complex legal frameworks surrounding gender, and the evolving study of masculinity throughout history.
