An engineered product goes through multiple phases during its lifecycle: starting with a concept, then progressing to design, production, usage, upkeep, and final disposal. The design phase is crucial for identifying user and stakeholder requirements while generating creative solutions. Many top products today owe their appeal to exceptional design. Furthermore, design decisions heavily influence a product's later lifecycle stages. For instance, if a product is specifically designed using particular plastics, recycling becomes impossible once it reaches end-of-life.
Our goal is to deepen insights into design methodologies and create innovative approaches and tools for industrial product development. Through our research, we establish foundational knowledge that drives product and process advancements, enhancing user experiences while optimizing engineering efficiency.
