Pursuing a postgraduate research degree demands commitment and enthusiasm for your chosen field, but the effort pays off. Doctoral studies present significant challenges while offering profound personal and professional rewards. As a research student, you'll undertake specialized investigations in your discipline with guidance from a principal supervisor and additional co-supervisors. Our research on star formation involves: directing global collaborations to execute and analyze infrared and radio surveys that will map nearly all massive young stars in our galaxy, conducting detailed follow-up studies using advanced spectroscopic, interferometric and spectropolarimetric methods, collecting and interpreting millimeter/submillimeter data to examine molecular line emissions through chemical modeling, and developing sophisticated multidimensional models to understand the formation of Giant Molecular Clouds and their structural evolution.
