Graduates frequently progress to PhD programs or industry positions.

At Leeds, researchers investigate various macromolecular complexes related to metabolism, transport, and antimicrobial resistance. Studies in proteostasis examine protein lifecycles—their synthesis, folding, breakdown—and how malfunctions lead to disease. Since molecular structures govern biological functions, structural biology plays a vital role in modern scientific exploration. Our work focuses on analyzing biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids) and their assemblies, while also studying molecular dynamics through integrated approaches combining molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and computational modeling.
