This collaborative research initiative involves the Cardiovascular and Sport and Exercise Science research groups. Our primary objective is to mitigate the impact of cardiopulmonary conditions and enhance life quality for older individuals.
Our methodology employs a comprehensive strategy, examining everything from electrical signals in individual heart cells to real-time lung function assessments and their effects on physical endurance. We seek to pinpoint critical factors influenced by natural aging and cardiopulmonary disorders, while creating affordable interventions like exercise regimens and dietary supplements to address functional limitations. Our investigations utilize both animal models and human subjects, supported by advanced computer simulations across multiple scales.
