Pursuing a postgraduate research degree demands commitment and enthusiasm for your chosen field. The journey is demanding but immensely fulfilling. As a doctoral candidate, you'll undertake specialized research under the guidance of a principal supervisor and additional co-supervisors.
Interfaces between liquid-fluid and solid-fluid systems present fascinating multiscale scientific questions with significant real-world implications. A major research focus involves studying liquid droplet behavior, which plays a crucial role in various technologies including pharmaceutical production, inkjet printing, medical aerosols, emulsion creation, condensation management, surface purification, pesticide application, fuel/water filtration, powder production, and microfluidic devices. The complex process of wetting, which occurs when droplets contact solid surfaces, remains an important area of fundamental investigation. Additional research interests include lubrication mechanisms, especially in poroelastic environments, and multiphase flow dynamics pertinent to petroleum industries, where fluid movement's impact on mass transfer is critical for analyzing erosion and corrosion processes
