Embarking on a PhD journey can help you launch an academic path or enhance your professional capabilities, fueling your enthusiasm for your field while challenging you to achieve your best. As a doctoral candidate, you'll gain access to various workshops provided by the University and our specialized training center for researchers.

Our investigations focus on contaminants and microbes across air, waste, soil, and water systems, particularly examining the connections between energy use, sustainability, public health, and environmental consequences. Through both laboratory experiments and computer modeling, we analyze pollution sources, exposure pathways, and how engineered infrastructure affects potential hazards. Our research explores technological innovations alongside their interactions with human, financial, social, and governmental frameworks. Much of our work bridges disciplines, combining engineering principles with socioeconomic considerations.
