The need for aerospace engineering graduates is growing, both domestically in the UK and internationally. The UK boasts the world's second-largest aerospace sector, trailing only the USA, with industry giants like Airbus, Astrium, BAE Systems, GKN, Leonardo, and Rolls-Royce headquartered there. Specializing in this discipline can unlock numerous career pathways after graduation. Your studies will cover aerospace structures and systems engineering, complemented by elective modules that allow you to develop expertise in your chosen specialization. Our School's Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) plays a key role in aligning the program with industry requirements and emerging trends. IAB members also deliver guest lectures that enhance our taught modules and projects, keeping the curriculum rigorous and industry-focused.
The aerospace sector stands as one of UK engineering's most thriving domains with a truly international reach. The competencies you'll acquire through this program are applicable across diverse aerospace fields, including fundamental aerospace research, airline operations management, satellite systems, aircraft design and production for both civilian and defense applications, as well as motorsport engineering.
