The Master of Philosophy degree is granted upon completion of a thesis (200 pages or 60,000 words) that demonstrates your ability to conduct research and/or scholarship at a publishable standard, meeting peer review criteria. Examiners must approve that this work could reasonably be achieved within two to three years of full-time study (or four to six years part-time). Additionally, you must show comprehensive knowledge in your research field. This program is ideal for students with two years of research funding.
Global societal challenges often involve intricate, multifaceted issues that demand interdisciplinary research approaches and cross-sector collaboration. Conventional data sources frequently fall short in addressing these complex problems. As part of Big Data research, the Digital Futures initiative explores innovative digital data applications to derive policy-relevant findings for transportation and interconnected sectors like energy, healthcare, public safety, security, and social systems.
