Starting in 2035, the UK will require all newly sold vehicles to be electric, creating an urgent need to train future automotive engineers for this evolving industry. The shift from conventional combustion engines to hybrid, electric, and self-driving vehicle technologies is already reshaping automotive engineering.

Automotive engineers must now focus on creating eco-friendly hybrid and electric vehicles that satisfy rising safety expectations, performance benchmarks, and strict cost-effectiveness goals. Beyond core mechanical engineering expertise, professionals require specialized skills to thrive in this field. Our program teaches both conventional automotive engineering and cutting-edge electric, hybrid (BEng), and autonomous (MEng) vehicle technologies. You'll also gain insight into the business factors influencing design and manufacturing decisions.
