The School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science offers an MA by Research (MAR) program that enables students to conduct independent research at the Masters level. This program often serves as an ideal foundation for pursuing a PhD. Our department comprises a vibrant, diverse group of scholars specializing in philosophy of religion and philosophical theology. We actively promote broader, more inclusive dialogues within the field of philosophy of religion. Our research spans multiple religious traditions, including but not limited to Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, African traditional religions, and Afro-Brazilian practices. Additionally, we explore various frameworks for understanding religious belief and practice. Our methodology is inherently interdisciplinary, bridging philosophy with related fields such as theology, religious studies, sociology, and anthropology.
