This postgraduate research program can be completed in one year for full-time students or two years for part-time students. Under the supervision of an advisor, you'll focus entirely on research without any coursework, culminating in a thesis evaluation. Your independent study will involve analyzing primary and secondary sources to develop original findings, resulting in a 30,000-word dissertation submitted upon program completion.
The Cities and Space research group in the History School unites historians and interdisciplinary scholars exploring urban environments, culture, and society. Our research spans diverse topics such as public health in cities, population studies, social movements, civic engagement, and urban development patterns. We examine how various historical and cultural perspectives can illuminate our understanding of urban spaces and their evolution.
