A Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Arts (MA) by Research offers a self-directed approach to learning, where evaluation and degree conferral depend solely on your research work. Pursuing an MA or MSc by Research presents a stimulating chance to enhance your analytical abilities while deepening your scholarly focus in a specific discipline. This research-based Master's program spans 12 months (or 24 months part-time), differing from traditional taught Master's degrees as it centers on designing, executing, and documenting an original research initiative. You'll receive guidance from two faculty supervisors and have the opportunity to publish your findings upon completion.
Our investigations focus on atmospheric chemistry across the troposphere and stratosphere, examining local pollution, regional air quality issues, global atmospheric changes, ozone layer depletion, and climate-chemistry relationships. The research employs diverse methodologies including laboratory experiments, ground-based monitoring, airborne measurements, data interpretation, and computational simulations. We actively participate in numerous national and international field studies while pioneering sophisticated modeling techniques for chemical processes, cloud formations, particulate matter, and their impacts on rainfall patterns, air composition, and climate systems. Our scope additionally encompasses modeling mesospheric chemical phenomena.
