This course explores political, economic, and socio-cultural changes occurring across the Global South while analyzing the complex dynamics, obstacles, and prospects facing its communities. Students will study how Global South populations and nations perceive development challenges, along with examining the connections between international, national, and local stakeholders in competing development approaches. The curriculum provides chances to evaluate development initiatives, programs, and policies, including the roles of development organizations and funding bodies, while measuring advancement toward major global development targets. Participants will develop sophisticated understanding of current debates and disputes surrounding modern development issues. The program also allows for critical examination of both development theories and practical implementations to comprehend diverse methodologies, practices, and perspectives in the field.
