China now accounts for nearly one-fifth of the world's economy and serves as a key hub for technological, commercial, and cultural advancement. Meanwhile, Thailand has experienced profound economic, political, and social changes in recent years. This program will help you achieve advanced proficiency in both Chinese and Thai while exploring the rich cultural, political, and historical backgrounds of these captivating nations.

Both languages are taught from beginner level, though students with prior knowledge can typically be placed appropriately. Through core modules, you'll enhance your language abilities while gaining insights into the culture, history, and politics of China, Thailand, and the broader East Asian region.

During this five-year program, you'll spend two years abroad—one year at a university in mainland China or Taiwan and another in Thailand—providing immersive experience with the languages and cultures. You'll have numerous chances to engage with China's and Thailand's vibrant traditions and may also visit neighboring East and Southeast Asian countries like Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.
