This five-year program offers comprehensive study of two major global languages while immersing you in the cultures and histories of their native-speaking nations. You'll dedicate one academic year to living in an Arabic-speaking region and another in a Russian-speaking country, enhancing your linguistic abilities while gaining authentic cultural experiences. The curriculum accommodates both beginners and those with prior knowledge of Arabic or Russian.
You'll achieve fluency in Arabic while examining the cultural, religious, and historical influences that have shaped the Middle East and North Africa. The program also addresses current regional topics, investigating subjects like cultural identity, gender studies, sexuality, and racial dynamics.
During this five-year journey, you'll spend your second and third years overseas. For the Arabic immersion, you may study at prestigious institutions like Morocco's Arabic Language Institute in Fes (ALIF) or Jordan Language Academy in Amman. The Russian component includes an intensive language course in a Russian-speaking nation.
