Our research team collaborates with national and global partners across diverse professional fields. We strive to improve lives by conducting top-tier research, development, and consultancy focused on mental health challenges faced by patients and vulnerable groups. Our work actively engages practitioners, individuals with lived experience, and community stakeholders. Core research areas include supporting vulnerable populations, mental health in older adults, coercion and safety measures, service user participation, and collaborative partnerships. We enhance UCLan's mental health research visibility by fostering cooperation among academics, healthcare professionals, social care experts, service users, caregivers, and community members. We expand and elevate UCLan's mental health research through capacity building for researchers and partners. Our goal is to deepen comprehension of mental health, illness, recovery processes, and the complex challenges in delivering effective mental healthcare and social support. These objectives are realized through comprehensive research initiatives, developmental projects, and consultancy services covering multiple thematic areas.
