For those passionate about tackling challenges and understanding how things function, our Physics Foundation Entry program serves as a gateway to our full Physics degrees. Foundation Entry courses are perfect if you possess the aptitude for degree-level study but lack the formal qualifications needed for direct entry into an honors program. The Foundation Year curriculum is identical for all physics and astrophysics students. With intentionally small class sizes, you'll receive personalized attention and support. This Physics Foundation Entry pathway can lead to careers in industrial sectors, government research facilities, international labs, and observatories. Many of our BSc (Hons) alumni pursue advanced studies, including MSc programs in physics and engineering. Others opt for teaching qualifications (PGCE) or secure positions in industrial or government research settings. Additional career paths include roles in financial services or science journalism.
Our sandwich degree options combine academic learning with valuable workplace experience, helping you develop professional confidence and graduate with practical skills.

Past students have greatly valued their sandwich year, as it provided real-world experience in their chosen field and direct mentorship from industry professionals. These placements often lead to future employment opportunities in related sectors for our graduates.
