Our innovative Architecture Foundation Entry program provides comprehensive training in architectural principles, combined with key focus areas like conservation, sustainability, and environmental concerns. Foundation Entry courses are perfect for students who possess the aptitude for degree-level study but lack formal qualifications for direct entry into an honors program. This distinctive pathway serves as an excellent bridge to full degree studies. You'll gain thorough knowledge in design fundamentals, theory, architectural history, and construction technology. We'll also address contemporary environmental challenges, including low-carbon solutions, to respond to societal demands. Through international study trips, you'll analyze Lancastrian architecture and urban design alongside global examples. The Architecture Foundation Entry can pave the way for careers in accredited architectural practices or related disciplines. Completing the foundation year enables advancement to Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) Architecture. After gaining professional experience, you can progress to UCLan's MArch Architecture Part II, which is accredited by both the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for Part 2 qualification - a crucial step toward becoming a registered architect. Additional postgraduate opportunities include specializations in architectural conservation, construction law, urban renewal, and project management.
