This program empowers emerging poets to explore poetry's capacity as an investigative medium in the humanities.
Participants will create a poetry collection alongside a 30-40,000 word academic study. With its focus on poetic practice as research into contemporary poetry's possibilities, the program aligns with the Centre for Modern Poetry's mission, enabling collaborative supervision between both centers. Interdisciplinary work on modern poetry with faculty from Modern Languages and Comparative Literature is also promoted. The program recognizes poetry's longstanding tradition as a research-informed art form.
