We welcome research proposals from students exploring any facet of medieval and early modern history, society, and cultural expressions.

Faculty research specialties encompass: material culture of the early modern period, art history of the late medieval era, religious developments across medieval and early modern Europe, Anglo-Saxon archaeological studies and liturgical practices, political systems of the early modern age, theatrical traditions from medieval to early modern times, and scholarly text preparation.

Current investigations focus on: the Protestant Reformation, visual and manuscript traditions, community structures, the dramatic works of John Lyly, church architecture of the Middle Ages, gender and sexuality studies, monastic administration, non-standard linguistic practices, and monarchical systems. You'll join a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of scholars pursuing diverse research paths.

If applying for the PhD programme, a Master's degree in a relevant subject is preferable.
All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.

TOEFL iBT - 95 overall (with a minimum of 22 in R&S, 21 in W, 20 in L)
