Kent's higher education research examines academic practices and policies, with a special emphasis on innovation, improvement, accessibility, and excellence in teaching methods, learning approaches, evaluation systems, and student experiences. Our studies also explore faculty development, focusing on support systems and recognition for part-time and early-career academics.
The Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE) combines its core team's knowledge with university-wide researchers, ensuring exceptional PhD guidance. We meticulously pair students with supervisory teams aligned with their research goals. For more information about our faculty's research projects and publications, visit the CSHE website.
Beyond regular supervision sessions, all doctoral candidates participate in customized research training. This may include methodology courses from the Centre or other departments as needed. Students are also encouraged to engage with CSHE's seminar series, along with workshops, early-career networks, and specialized sessions offered by academic organizations like the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE).
