Kent's Film program boasts a vibrant and diverse research environment. Whether your passion lies in film theory, historical perspectives, or digital media aesthetics, our faculty offers the scholarly guidance to advance your studies.
Program Highlights
Benefit from expert supervision, top-tier resources, and an engaging academic community that makes your Kent experience both rewarding and intellectually enriching.
Under the mentorship of specialized advisors, you'll pursue innovative research. We encourage proposals across all topics and equip you with outstanding research facilities. Your work culminates in a creative film project—which could be a digital production, screenplay, experimental audiovisual pieces, process documentation, or a blend of these—accompanied by a written dissertation of maximum 40,000 words.
You'll receive guidance from at least two supervisors who assist with both academic growth and professional development throughout your program. Regular meetings ensure not just research oversight, but also identification of areas needing additional training or support. Periodic evaluations help maintain your project's progress while guaranteeing access to essential resources for successful completion.
