The Master's programme in Biological Anthropology by Research allows you to undertake self-directed study with guidance from a supervisory team headed by one of our globally renowned scholars. With our diverse regional knowledge and wide-ranging subject specializations, we can provide expert supervision spanning socio-cultural, biological, medical, and visual anthropology. Our Research Master's options include both one-year full-time and two-year part-time pathways, during which you'll develop and compose a thesis with support from one or two faculty advisors. Our dynamic research community explores the full spectrum of biological and evolutionary anthropology. Students benefit from comprehensive contemporary data-analysis resources and a recently upgraded laboratory specifically designed for biological and evolutionary anthropology research. A good honours degree (2.1 or above) in Biological Anthropology or a cognate discipline.

All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.

IELTS Academic- 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component)
TOEFL iBT- 85 overall (with a minimum of 18 in R, 17 in W&L, 20 in S)
