A Master's by Research (MSc) offers a one-year (full-time) academic program focused primarily on independent research rather than structured coursework. This condensed format provides an opportunity to investigate a specialized subject area without committing to a longer doctoral program.
Unlike traditional Master's programs, research-based students select their own project focus and maintain significant autonomy throughout their studies.
During initial enrollment, you'll collaborate with your advisor to establish a customized study plan. While conducting research, you can enhance your academic skills through specialized training workshops and seminars.
The program culminates in submitting a concise thesis of approximately 25,000 words for evaluation.
Successful graduates receive their degree and may choose to continue their academic journey by pursuing a comprehensive PhD program if they find the research experience rewarding.
