A Master's by Research (MSc) offers a one-year (full-time) academic program focused primarily on independent research rather than structured coursework. This accelerated option provides research experience without the extended commitment of a doctoral program.
Unlike traditional Master's programs, research-based students select their own specialized project and enjoy more autonomy throughout their studies.
During initial months, you'll collaborate with your supervisor to design an approved research plan. While conducting your investigation, you can enhance your research capabilities through specialized training workshops and academic events.
The program culminates with submitting a concise thesis of approximately 25,000 words based on your findings, which undergoes formal evaluation.
Successful graduates receive their degree and may choose to continue their academic journey by pursuing a full PhD program if they find research fulfilling.
