Our Criminology with Law BSc(Hons) program offers an in-depth exploration of key subjects through a critical social sciences lens. You'll examine core criminology concepts while collaborating with our Law Department to master essential legal principles.
Throughout the program, you'll analyze legal frameworks addressing criminological issues, covering medical, family, immigration, and human rights legislation. The curriculum also investigates crime prevention strategies, justice systems, penal approaches, offenders with mental health conditions, and serious criminal activities.
During your second year, you can participate in practical placements to gain hands-on experience. Previous students have worked with law enforcement, youth justice services, correctional facilities, restorative justice programs, surveillance teams, and community organizations assisting both offenders and victims. International study options may also be available.
On campus, you'll learn from distinguished criminology and law academics with diverse research expertise and practical knowledge. The program features guest lectures from legal experts, police leaders, substance abuse counselors, and justice system professionals, providing valuable insights into current discussions, challenges, and operational realities within legal and criminal justice careers.
