The MSc in Cancer Immunotherapy program aims to teach students how cancer immunotherapies are developed by exploring the complex interactions between cancers and the immune system. Harnessing the immune system for cancer treatment has been a persistent objective in this scientific discipline. Through problem-based and self-directed learning approaches, the course offers comprehensive knowledge of immune effector mechanisms, cancer biology, and essential personal competencies.
A central aspiration in cancer immunology has been leveraging immune effector mechanisms for therapeutic purposes. Students will gain expertise valuable for employment in the rapidly expanding cancer immunotherapy sector, including opportunities with major pharmaceutical companies (Roche, Merck, AstraZeneca) and smaller enterprises. Graduates may pursue diverse career paths such as: pharmaceutical/medical R&D, clinical trials, public health research, academic investigation, scientific communication, education, or intellectual property law. The degree also serves as excellent preparation for advanced research programs like MRes, MSc by Research, or PhD studies in relevant disciplines.
