The MPhys program offers students the opportunity to explore astrophysics with more extensive coverage than our BSc degree. This path is especially suited for those aiming for research careers in industry, government, or academia, and who may pursue advanced postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD). The MPhys curriculum delves deeper into astrophysics topics compared to the BSc, featuring specialized courses like Galaxy Formation & Evolution, High Energy Astrophysics, and Atmospheric Physics during the final year, along with a major research project conducted through the Centre for Astrophysics Research.

With advanced physics knowledge and strong technical and mathematical abilities, graduates are well-prepared for roles in scientific or industrial research. Many continue their academic journey through PhD programs, while others secure positions at international observatories, research facilities, engineering firms, financial sectors, or education.
