From day one, you'll get a mix of academic knowledge and hands-on practice. Half your studies will take place at the University, while the other half will be dedicated to developing practical skills across multiple clinical environments. You'll study typical childhood growth patterns and identify developmental concerns. The program teaches intervention strategies for developmental challenges while emphasizing healthy living promotion for children, adolescents, and families through direct patient care in both hospital and community settings.
Upon completion, you'll qualify to register as a pediatric nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This degree offers diverse career paths, whether in hospital systems or community healthcare services. Potential specializations include neonatal intensive care or pediatric emergency medicine, while alternative routes might lead to hospice work or community pediatric nursing roles.
