Our applied biomedical science program equips you with academic knowledge, professional expertise, and hands-on laboratory training for NHS Biomedical Science careers.
You'll begin enrolled in our Biomedical Science program. In year two, you can apply for hospital placements featuring NHS lab training. Successful applicants transition to this BSc Applied Biomedical Science degree to finish their studies.
Beyond core biomedical science education, you'll develop versatile skills including analytical thinking and case evaluation. This IBMS-accredited program enables graduates with IBMS Certificates of Competence to pursue HCPC registration.

A level: Biology at grade C and Chemistry at grade C.
BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Applied Science.
A level and BTEC National: Extended Certificate in Applied Science and A Level Biology at grade C and A Level Chemistry at grade C.
International Baccalaureate: 26 points overall including Higher Level Biology at grade 5 and Higher Level Chemistry at grade 5.
Access to Higher Education Diploma: Science.
T Level: Science (Laboratory sciences) Grade: Merit
In addition, you will need: GCSE Mathematics at grade 4/C and GCSE English Language/Literature at grade 4/C. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
