Social work is a diverse and fulfilling profession focused on helping people. It provides opportunities to support children, youth, families, and those with care experience. Additionally, social workers assist adults requiring care, including individuals with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges. In this role, you'll collaborate across disciplines with professionals from housing services, law enforcement, and healthcare teams to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Our BA (Hons) Social Work program, accredited by Social Work England, emphasizes developing professional judgment and fostering relationships—both with those you serve and fellow professionals. Our dedicated faculty will help you master social work principles, laws, policies, ethics, and practical approaches to inform your practice. The curriculum explores themes like social injustice, population dynamics, inequality, along with safeguarding and recognizing abuse or neglect. You'll cultivate essential skills including communication, leadership, critical thinking, teamwork, self-care, and effective case management.
