Created in partnership with NHS clinical laboratories and certified by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), this program guides you through various medical laboratory scenarios under the guidance of academic and NHS professionals, equipping you with skills for disease diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and prevention. Emphasizing hands-on learning and evaluation, these activities will enhance your competence and self-assurance for conducting independent lab investigations. Additionally, you can boost your professional skills and career prospects through practical work modules, from brief internships to extended placements. Aspiring Registered Biomedical Scientists can fulfill their IBMS Registration Training Portfolio requirements through a placement year in UKAS-approved NHS hospital labs. Upon completion, you'll be thoroughly equipped to pursue careers in biomedical research or healthcare, or advance to specialized training in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or education.
